The Vampire Diaries | 03×15 – 1912
Original Air Date: March 15th–2012

Overview:  Damon recalls murders from 1912 that are eerily similar to a present-day crime spree. Meanwhile, Elena and Matt try to prove that Dr. Fell is a killer and not Alaric, who is being held in a jail cell.

Favorite Quote: “And please don’t scream. You’re about to have a very, very bad night.” –Damon

Bonus Quote: “Dear Diary. The chipmunk asked me my name today. I told him it was Joe. That lie will haunt me forever.” –Damon

Likes:

  • Looking not only into the Salvatore’s but also the Forbes, Lockwood and Gilbert families as well as the city of Mystic Falls in 1912.
  • That Bonnie won’t have to live without her mother since she’s decided to make the change into a vampire.
  • Damon’s discussion and sarcastic ideas to help Alaric out of jail – squirrel.
  • Damon and Stefan bringing up 1912 and the memories written in Stefan’s journal, time of Mystic Falls’ last serial killer – the flash backs are so lovely in that sepia tone.
  • The introduction of Sage and all her K.O. glory.
  • Elena looking in the closet for skeletons in the closet to find evidence – smart.
  • Damon and Rebekah narrating from Stefan’s journal – funny stuff.
  • Sage teaching Damon about the pleasures of being a vampire.
  • Damon seducing a woman to help Stefan get the urge to feed and stop being so twitchy only for Elena, and Matt walking in on the whole thing making Stefan’s guilty conscious return.
  • Matt trying to understand how Elena got messed up with the vampires, and how Stefan made her feel safe (love her forever because of the immortality) then Damon somehow worming his way under skin.
  • Matt stealing back the Gilbert family journal from Meredith’s place.
  • Alaric returning home safe and sound after being locked up.
  • Damon telling Stefan that he will be the one to pull him back because he doesn’t want Stefan to ripper out again.
  • Damon playing the piano – vampires and instruments are like the ultimate hot.

Dislikes:

  • Alaric waking up in the local jail and them accusing him for the murders that Meredith might be behind, despite Damon’s attempts to convince otherwise.
  • Rebekah asking Mayor Lockwood about the trees in order to get rid of a certain white oak tree that might mean eternal sleep for the Originals.
  • Sheriff Forbes not letting Alaric out of jail even when there was no hard proof to continue to hold him.
  • Damon and Rebekah’s tension while in the bar as she tries to get the mill information from them.
  • Meredith bad mouthing Alaric, trying to make herself look innocent and making him look like the murderer.
  • Matt and Elena breaking into Meredith’s house to find evidence that she’s the one behind the murders – talk about going to extremes.
  • Meredith catching Matt and Elena in the closet when she returns home while they were looking for evidence.
  • Stefan being all moody about being caught red-handed by Elena and finding out this isn’t the first time that Damon has convinced Stefan to give in to his vampire urges – the reason behind the legend of the ripper.
  • Meredith showing up to make apologies, and again making it sound like Alaric crazy and really is the murderer.

WTF:

  • The woman that Damon seduced for Stefan — the hair looked similar to Sage’s wild tresses.
  • That the person charged with the murders back then was already dead – Samantha Gilbert.

Next Episode:  March 22nd–2012 (Break on Through)
