Seven Minutes (2012)

Entertainment Comments Off on Seven Minutes (2012)

by Jessica Grafer:

Synopsis from website:

“Plagued by nightmares of a demonic man ever since her childhood. Anabel quickly learns that her nightmares are a lot more real than she could ever have imagined. A normal day quickly turns into one of terror, as she is hunted down and lead to a shocking truth by the person she fears the most.”

In about seven minutes you follow Anabel as she is tormented by this demonic man. You wonder, “Who is he? What is going on?” Neill Morris, puts together a beautiful mini-film that intrigues your mind and pleases the eye. I thought the film was edited very well. The mood was creepy and dark and the shadows and music played this up perfectly. The story was complete and well-rounded, despite having only seven minutes in which to tell it. Morris’ fiancée, costume designer, stepped in for the lead role. She seems a bit nervous but does a good job.

Mr. Morris wrote and produced this film over the summer of 2012 with a small budget raised through Crowdfunding. He and his fiancé put together a brilliant first film. I hope to see more from him in the future.

Biography on Neill Morris:

“Ever since I can remember, I have loved everything to do with Horror, the Paranormal and anything Creepy. I loved old ghost stories, witches, the living dead everything. It always just seemed a part of me somehow. I even have my arm tattooed with the Universal monsters. I grew up in a small town called Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland and later moved to Kent, UK in 2010 with my fiancé. It wasn’t until the start of 2012 that I started university and began making films and writing films, Seven Minutes was my first horror film. It was made over the summer and with a budget of £200 which I raised through Crowdfunding. I didn’t really have a crew to help me so I had to do most of the production myself, but I did have the helping hand of my fiancée who stepped in to play the lead role of Anabel, while also being the costume designer for the film. I plan on writing and making more horror film and my dream is to become one of the Masters of Horror.”
