Revenge Recap: “Power”
Original Air Date (ABC): Sunday January 6, 2013
Season 2 Episode 8

Revenge is back and they waste no time getting everybody all messed up.  Let’s jump right in.

Well, we know that Victoria is desperate to get Daniel out of GG and away from the Inititative.  So, desperate that she has decided to ask for Emily’s help.  Emily meets with Victoria and tentatively agrees to help on the basis that Daniel still loves her.  I hate this plan.  I love Aiden and Emily together so much, and all this will do is screw them up.  Even though Aiden knows it’s just a game, it will still hurt.  Per the plan, Emily and Aiden stage a fake fight in front of Daniel.  This gets his mind focused on maybe getting Emily back.  Emily agrees to come to dinner where she will come face to face with the Judge who put her father away.  This makes for an awkward but interesting dinner.

At dinner Emily can’t help but bring up the Clarke case.  Patricia Barnes runs a group that helps the falsely accused.  It’s interesting how none of her husband’s cases have ever been called into question.  Judge Barnes says that David Clarke deserved everything he got and you can see Emily fuming just under the surface.  You also see Patricia get extremely nervous with all the talk about Clarke.  She quickly excuses herself and goes to bed.  Judge Barnes immediately follows.  The closer Emily works on the inside the more dangerous it is for her.  If she can pull strings from a distance it’s better.  I don’t think she’ll be able to pull herself away.

While that craziness is happening on the beach there are sinister things going on at the bar.  Jack and Declan can tell the Ryan brothers are bad news.  They want to get rid of them but they don’t know how.  Declan has Charlotte keep Nate busy while he searches in the back room to try and get something on the brothers.  Oh he gets something.  Coffee beans all over the floor, and drugs in the hand.  Declan barely gets stuff put back together when Nate comes in looking for him.  Unfortunately, Nate steps on a missed bean and he knows that Declan has found the stash.  Declan tells Jack and they decide to have a cop friend of theirs bust the bar.  Jack sends Amanda and the baby to Emily’s until this whole Ryan brother drug thing is taken care of.

Daniel wants Nolan to find hidden files in the system.  He thinks his dad has hidden monies and wants Nolan to pull them out.  Nolan is also checking on things for Aiden.  Aiden ends up calling Helen Crowley from the Initiative.  Crowley tells Aiden they were expecting his call and they arrange to meet.  While Nolan is working, Marco keeps trying to make up.  He is such a slimy weasel!  I can’t stand him and how he’ll do anything to make money and get ahead.  So far Nolan has been able to keep him at arms length but it looks like Marco might be wearing him down.  It’s apparent that Nolan had real feelings for him at one time.

Aiden goes to meet Crowley.  He says he’s about to kill her which to me is just not Aiden.  He should know Crowley would never show up alone.  Aiden is getting all messed up with Emily playing girlfriend with Daniel.  Crowley drops another bomb to mess with Aiden.  Colleen is still alive.  Crowley wants to meet with Aiden again and discuss what he’s been doing for the last six years.  She dangles his sister in front of him like a glass of water to a person dying of thirst.

Big fundraiser for Mrs. Barnes organization for the falsely accused.  Emily meets with her before the dinner and shows her a letter that was written to her father.  In the letter it states that Judge Barnes did Mr. Clarke a grave disservice.  The jury was tampered with and Clarke wrongfully convicted.  Patricia admits to Emily that she wrote the letter.  Emily tells her she should come out tonight and tell the truth about everything.    While Patricia is giving a speech she starts to talk about the Clarke case.  Then she begins reading the letter.  Judge Barnes comes up and grips her arm tightly trying to get her to stop.  Patricia keeps going, reading how the trial and her husband were corrupt.  She then removes her suit coat and shows the bruises all up and down her arms.  Judge Barnes walks out in shame.  Emily can cross another face off her list.

It’s a fun night down at the bar until the cops burst in.  When they go to look for the drugs in back they’re gone.  After Nate stepped on that coffee bean he removed the drugs.  The cops find nothing incriminating in the bar.  Charlotte and Declan are making dinner on the boat.  The cops search the boat and find a hand gun and the drugs.  They are about to arrest Declan when Jack says that the drugs are his.  The boat is in his name and Delcan has nothing to do with it.  The cops arrest Jack.  Kenny is not happy with the situation.  Nate is very pleased with himself.  He said whoever called the cops was stupid and it better not happen again.  I have hope that Kenny will eventually stand up to his brother and help the boys.  I just hope it will be before things get to bad.

Aiden goes up to take a shower and Daniel stops by the beach house.  Daniel uses the excuse that he wants Emily’s help in making GG more charitable.  Then, as Victoria watches, he moves in for a kiss.  Victoria isn’t the only one watching.  Aiden is too.
