There is nothing more monstrous than addiction, and this week we see our supernatural trio at its mercy.

Another Kiss And You’ll Be Mine

Aidan is rendered helpless in Suren’s intoxicating influence. He gives in to his thirst for human blood with her, and engages in the sexual delights of Suren’s body. The Mother pays them an unexpected visit and demands that they not spend so much time on pleasure, and devote it to business. She wants them to cull the orphan vampires that are in hiding and organizing. Mother then has a private heart-to-heart conversation with Suren. It seems that the centuries old mother/daughter feud of a displeased parent and an unacceptable performance of a child to exceed parental expectations are still looming. Mother speaks of her disappointment with Suren’s progress, while Suren lashes out about her inability to ever please her mother.

Suren begs for Aidan’s full cooperation to restore power and cull the wayward vampires so that she may escape the fate she suffered before…literally being grounded by Mother…and not dug up for another century.

We gain even more insight to the past in flashbacks to 1930. This was during the time that Suren had chosen to be with Henry, Aidan’s fickle protégé. A grand ball was underway in the exquisite Halloway Hotel, and Mother had informed Suren of her plans for them to leave Boston. Suren wished to not leave, and when she went to seek comfort from Henry, she caught him bedding a lowly human woman. Her heart had been crushed, and Aidan avenged for Suren by forcing Henry to leave Boston and never return. The humiliated Suren returned to the ballroom filled with fancy human socialites and spotted Henry’s lover. She showed no restraint and ripped open the woman’s neck in front of all the guests. The shrill of terrified shrieks filled the grand ballroom as all of the present vampires had no choice but to feast on the humans before they could go outside and expose their identity. Mother was infuriated by Suren’s wreckless behavior and punished her daughter by having her buried alive and left to rot.

Back to present time, and Suren and Aidan are desperate to locate the orphan vampire army. Aidan has a lead and the two find themselves in a recently abandoned hide-out. Henry appears in front of Aidan. Although completely elated to see Henry again, he tells him that Suren must not see him. This may enrage her again.

Your Lights Are On, But You’re Not Home

Ever feel like you are invisible? Sally is growing tired of feeling like she does not exist…or just not ‘feeling’ at all. She has taken steps to quench her need for connection by “taking” over her crush’s girlfriend’s body. Sally can’t resist Dr. Forest’s intimate encounters, but he has noticed that his girlfriend, Janet, seems different lately. Josh and Aidan warn her that possession becomes highly addictive, but she points out that they don’t have to deal with being untouchable and lonely.

After another roll in the sack with Dr. Forest, Sally tries to vacate Janet’s body, but she has become ‘stuck’. Sally confronts Josh in Janet’s body, but Josh can offer no help. They are interrupted by a confused Dr. Forest, and Sally makes her way back with Dr. Forest to his apartment to meet his mom. While Sally is nervously pretending to be Janet, the dark entity that has been following her for weeks appears. Sally screams at the entity to leave her alone, but the entity attacks her and collides with Sally inside of Janet’s body. At least now Sally is unstuck, but she is extremely weak.

Later that day, Janet finds herself at the roommate’s house and appears to be convinced that she has been there before. Josh sees her out, but Sally is distraught because she believes that during her possession, Janet must have picked up on pieces of Sally’s life. Sally follows a confused and haunted Janet back to her home. Janet has now become consumed with her dreams and visions of Sally’s former existence, and is unable to understand why she is so plagued by the dark entity that she names ‘Reaper’.

Might As Well Face It

Josh is putting the entire donated twin funding to good use to develop a cure for their curse. While he is completely distracted by all of this, Nora is dealing with her own demons from her past.

An old abusive ex-boyfriend, Will, has resurfaced before Nora. He shows up at the hospital while she is on duty and asks for her forgiveness. At this moment, Josh crosses their path and Nora introduces them to each other. Josh realizes that this is the ex that physically hurt Nora in the past. Nora and Josh excuse themselves so that they can argue about how stupid Nora is for letting Will get anywhere near her.

Back at the lab, the twin werewolves, Brynn and Connor, build up Josh’s inner wolf by raising his rage for Will…hoping that the wolf inside of him comes to the surface a little more. The sibling wolves want nothing more than to see Josh cave in to the euphoric feeling of being a wolf. They accompany him to Will’s house and encourage him to kill Will. Nora shows up just in time to save Will from being completely murdered by Josh.

Brynn later approaches Nora and offers her answers about her urges to become a wolf. Nora admits to stalking Will, and has fantasies about murdering him. Brynn takes advantage of Nora’s vulnerability to these urges and tries to convince her to let her wolf roam free. That night, under the full moon, Nora, Brynn, and Connor, tear Will to pieces. Josh wakes up the next morning shocked to see nobody chained up with him the restraints of the storage units. Nora wakes up between Brynn and Connor…dirty, bloody, naked, and with a huge smile on her face.

Quotable Quotes:

Aidan narrating:  “At the end of the day, all any of us wants is to feel good. And whether it’s a long wet kiss on a dark night, or a needle in the arm, it’ll gnaw at you until you give in…..until you let yourself give in. And there is nothing else in the world that feels better than giving in to your inner monster.”

Sally to Josh:  “Eat me Josh!”

Josh to Sally: “Eat you or the meat suit that you’re possessing?

Sally (Inside Janet’s body) to Josh:  “You’re Josh Levinson. Your favorite TOS movie is Search for Spock, but you tell people its Wrath of Khan to save face.”
