Being Human Recap: “(Dead) Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”
Original Air Date (SyFy): Monday January 21, 2013
Season 3 Episode 2

Being Reckless

Let’s face it; part of being human is the inevitable consequences we pay for being reckless. We would like to have instant gratification and absolutely no repercussions. We jump into situations knowing right from wrong, yet our egos beckon us louder than our conscious. Even with the best intentions, a momentary lapse in judgment can have lasting effects on not only us, but also those who surround us. Sometimes when you let your guard down for even a split second, we can create mayhem. Temporary indulgences can prove to be disastrous. This episode of Being Human forces Aidan to conquer temptation, urges Sally to listen to sound advice, and begs Josh to trust his instincts.

Tainted Blood

Nick and Stevie have been safely recovered and reanimated since jumping a ride on Sally’s blood spell that brought them all back from the dead. Nick and Zoe have been reunited and Stevie is off to hitchhike across the country and lose his virginity. They are all reminded that they are to be seen by no one from their past. Josh receives a stunning phone call. It is Aidan. Reunited, the three roomies are beyond thrilled! Once home, Aidan is pleased to see that Josh and Nora are again an item and also the fact that Josh is now human. Aidan still must comprehend that Sally is now human-ish, as well. Aidan does his best to look more human by shaving off “the beard” and cleaning himself up. What would help even more is if he was able to score some non-tainted blood.

Aidan finds himself at the doorstep of Tracy, a blood whore that has provided him with meals in the past. She sends him to another supplier because she has been infected by the virus. When Aidan arrives, he finds himself trapped by a group of werewolves bent on killing him. Luckily for Aidan, Henry saves him from imminent death. Henry sweeps Aidan up and takes him back to his apartment where Aidan is introduced to Emma. Seemingly in love, Emma is human and feeds Henry her clean blood. Henry offers a meal off of Emma to Aidan, but while Aidan is alone with Emma, she admits that she is trapped in the apartment with Henry. Before Aidan has a chance to free Emma, Henry steps in and hypnotizes Emma back into submission. Later, Aidan confronts Henry about this barbaric behavior, but Henry explains that he is desperate to survive. Eventually, Aidan returns and releases Emma, much to Henry’s chagrin.

Goody Bag

Sally has been dying to get out on the town in her newly formed body and Josh has agreed to get out as well, after a heart to heart talk with Nora. To distract him from babysitting Nora’s wolf transformation, Josh takes Sally out for a drink. Sally indulges a bit too much at the bar and ends up being recognized by a friend named Trent. She explains to Trent that she faked her own death in order to escape the hold that her abusive boyfriend had on her. Sally convinces Josh that it is a good idea that he let her take Trent back to their apartment so she can get it on with Trent. Josh ends up letting her have her way. At the footsteps of the apartment, Trent regretfully turns down Sally’s suggestion of coming in. He complains that he isn’t feeling well, but does take a rain check. The very next day, Josh and Sally are alarmed when they see the Coroner across the street putting Trent into a body bag. It seems as though this is what the witch, Donna, was warning them about. Perhaps if somebody from Sally’s past sees her, the price they pay is death. Josh jets off to meet up with Nora, while Aidan and Sally have a momentary flutter together. Perhaps something is brewing between thee two.

Proposal

At Nora’s request, Josh has agreed to spend the full moon doing something else besides watching over her during her transformation. Josh agrees, but spends the entire night staring at the moon and thinking about her anyways. After strolling town all night and coming home to see Sally distraught over the sudden death of Trent, Josh makes his way to the storage unit to retrieve Nora. He is going to propose marriage to her. When he arrives, he is baffled to see a trail of blood and the steel door torn open. Nora is nowhere in sight. What Josh does not know is that Nora was trapped inside the storage unit with the purebloods, Connor and Brynn’s dad, Liam. Liam had told Nora that he was bent on finding out who killed his son Connor and also determined to find Brynn. Although Nora tells Liam that she is not privy to Brynn’s whereabouts, Liam locks himself inside with Nora to find out what kind of wolf she is. Obviously things could not go well with two werewolves trapped together in a confined space. Until next week…

Quotable Quotes

Sally to Josh (regarding Aidan): “Clearly not OK. He looks like a serial killer from the 70’s.”

Aidan to Sally: “So you didn’t like the Ulysses S. Grant look? My bad.”

Aidan to Josh: “It’s just good to see you happy.”

Josh to Nora: “You don’t hold me back. You make me stronger.”
Nora to Josh: “You make me stronger, too.”

Sally to Josh: “I’m taking Trent back to the house…like a goody bag.”

Josh to Sally (regarding Trent’s death): “Is this because you zombie-screwed him?”

Featured Music:

The song “This is the Last Time” by Le Fever, eloquently drapes the scene where Josh stumbles upon the trail of blood leading to the gaping hole in Nora’s storage door with the lyrics, “I climbed too high/ Thought I could find a place/I ran too far.”

“From Nothing to One” by Chrorus Grant, expresses “From nothing to one/I’m upstairs” as Josh strolls through the streets while staring at the full moon, thinking about nothing other than Nora.
