‘The Farm’ is a paranormal story of horror, based upon true events.

“Will the newly married couple survive this horrific week beyond their understanding, or will they succumb to the secrets of The Farm?”

Review:

The producer/screenwriter of this movie is a Facebook friend of mine (Rocky Karlage) and has read several of my reviews.  He asked me if I would watch his movie and give it a review.  I was a little apprehensive at first because I really knew nothing about the movie.  Another reason, I really don’t like watching low budget movies whether in the horror genre or not.  I watched the trailer and told Rocky I would be happy to watch the movie and give it a review.  I received the movie in the mail this past Thursday and my wife and I watched it Friday night.  As the synopsis states, the aunt of a newlywed couple allows them to use her family farm for a honeymoon getaway for the week.  It doesn’t take long for “strange” things to begin to take place on the farm.  The actors in this movie have worked in several projects prior to this film, but for the most part this was their first feature film.  As I have stated before, low budget films do not have the money for quality special effects, A-list actors, or the most high tech cameras.  However, there are other factors that can make a film interesting and the most important is the story.  The story is interesting and it does keep your attention.  I can see the passion for the story in the writing and throughout the movie this comes out quite well.  What usually happens in a low budget horror film is there is unintentional humor because of the story, acting, or special effects.  Thankfully, that does not happen in this movie!  There are several creepy moments and for the most part, it was entertaining.  If you are a fan of “B” horror, you will enjoy this movie.  Check out the trailer and give it a shot.  Check out the website to see where to get this movie!

He also enjoys writing… whether it’s a post about a great horror movie or one of the many actors, directors, or horror genre authors. He has been writing a weekly post for The Horror Show Radio Blog for several months, and had his own horror blog for many years.  He looks forward to bringing you a true love of the horror genre in each and every post!  Check out his novel “Jonathan Hale: The First American Vampire“.
