TEEN WOLF NEWS: Stiles Interrupted

Entertainment News Comments Off on TEEN WOLF NEWS: Stiles Interrupted

It looks like everyone’s favourite side-kick is going to be playing a much bigger – and gorier- part in the upcoming season of Teen Wolf, if the latest teaser trailer is anything to go by.

Stiles Stilinski, played by Dylan O’Brien, is the star of the latest trailer which includes some disturbing “fever dream”  images that suggest he’s yet to wake up from the nightmares of last season when he was part of a ritual suicide pact to save his father’s life.
Reminiscent of the American Horror Story and True Blood title sequences, the trailer follows the course of a pair of bloody hands and leads us through a strange indoor forest where a flickering, stop-motion Sheriff Stilinski accuses the hands’ owner of doing… something pretty horrible if the amount of blood is anything to go by.
The sense of unease is amped up by a sobbing, mascara stained Lydia Martin (Holland Roden) unable to speak or scream, reaching out to the camera, and a dazed looking Allison Argent (Crystal Reed) in a rocking chair, stroking what appears to be a dead wolf cradled in her arms.
As the bloody hands push through a door into a brightly lit room, they are greeted by Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) who repeatedly tells the camera, “this is not you”.
But Scott is pushed aside to reveal the hands belong to Stiles who is reflected in a mirror.  He is covered in blood, with smears of gore on his mouth and up his arms, staring into a mirror as he whispers “this is me”.
Can you say, ” MESSED UP”?
Because that’ what this trailer is, in all the best ways.
It looks like the darker elements of last season will be central to season 3B, with themes of mental illness, paranoia and violence dominating.
And with a double entendre tag line like LOSE YOU MIND, is seems like MTV’s expecting fans to get behind these new developments in a big way.
So what do you think of Stiles’ decent into insanity?  Thrilling or just too chilling?
