Supernatural Recap: “The Girl with the Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo”
Original Air Date: Friday April 27, 2012
Season 7, Episode 20

The boys are finally catching up with Dick Roman’s mysterious plot to rule the world in this week’s episode. Despite the fact that Sam and Dean aren’t really settled with the whole idea of Bobby hanging around as a ghost, they need him. Sometimes the boys need an upper hand steering them in the right direction… and well… Bobby knows best.

The Winchester boys struggle to figure out what Dick Roman is up to and Bobby manifests himself in front of them to tell these idjits the grand plan. In a nutshell, Dick is braking ground in Wisconsin (the location coordinates that Bobby uttered in his last breath alive, 45489) to build a biotech lab that is actually a state of the art slaughterhouse. (And we’re the beef!) All of the land and restaurants that Dick has acquired will serve the ‘turducken’ style munchies and we will all become docile and fat…basically going to dumb us down and make us fat for a Leviathan feast of our flesh. Then he is going to engineer a perfect herd of people by curing the leftovers of cancer, A.I.D.S., and all diseases. The Leviathans will be at the top of the food chain.

Just as the guys digest this maniacal plan, they receive an email from their missing pal, Frank. The message states that if they are reading it he is either dead or worse…somebody is hacking into his computer’s hard drive. If it is the latter, then all sorts of information about the guys will be compromised and a ton of other stuff, too. Luckily there is a tracking device on the hard drive and so the guys are able to pinpoint its location. It is on the Death Star. Well, actually it is at the headquarters of Richard Roman Enterprises. Time to hit the road.

Princess Leia Straddling a 20 Sided Die

So who would be genius enough to crack into Frank’s hard drive? Meet Charlie. Charlie is every geek’s dream girl…you know…quirky personality, computer programmer/hacker, Lord of the Rings/Harry Potter/Star Wars fan, and also likes girls herself. Simply put, adorkable.  When she arrives at work at Richard Roman Enterprises, her boss calls her into his office. None other than Dick Roman is waiting in there to praise her ability to remain irreplaceable due to her impressive hacking skills. Thinking she will get fired for transferring company funds secretly into a separate account, Dick reassures her that she will remain employed so long as she hacks into Frank’s hard drive immediately. Charlie successfully cracks the drive but can’t resist the urge to read a file dedicated to Dick Roman. Images and pages pour out of the screen that detail who the Leviathans are, what they do, and what they plan on doing. She even learns that her top boss, Dick Roman, is their leader.

Charlie rushes home but is startled when Sam and Dean show up. They prove to her that they are not Leviathans by pouring borax on themselves. (She read that borax burns Levi’s.) After the guys catch Charlie up to speed about who they are and how much danger the entire planet is in, she reluctantly agrees to erase the Dick Roman file on Frank’s hard drive before handing it over to Dick. She also agrees to enter Dick’s office and hack into his email so that the guys can see what he is up to.

Dean and Sam set up a command center and guide Charlie’s mission to enter Dick’s office. They would do it themselves but they are too recognizable to the Leviathans. With much urging and appealing to Charlie’s love for Hermione, the guys successfully guide Charlie safely into Dick’s office where she downloads and transfers his emails to them. They quickly scan through the messages and see that Dick is en route to the airport to pick up a mysterious package. Charlie is able to buy them time to intercept the package.

What’s with the Red Clay?

Dean and Sam disguise themselves as cargo handlers and discreetly switch the package meant for Dick with a borax bomb. Dick returns back to the office to see Charlie. She was able to wipe the files about the Winchesters and Leviathans from the drive. Dick tells her to give him a moment while he steps out. Dick has opened his secret package expecting to see red clay but is instead infuriated when borax explodes all over his face. Charlie races to leave the building but is met at the exit with Leviathans. Bobby had earlier attached himself to Charlie by sneaking his flask into her pocket, so he is able to come to her rescue. Bobby shatters a thick glass wall so that Sam and Dean are able to break through and help Charlie. Now Dick is livid knowing that the Winchesters are involved and have his secret package of red clay. Bobby works his ghost ju-ju and holds Dick back while Charlie, Dean and Sam get away. The boys are stunned by Bobby’s super strength and worry that he will become a ‘vengeful’ spirit.

Quotable Quotes:

Bobby to Dean and Sam: “Come on! Just because I’m dead doesn’t mean I don’t know how to do my damn job!”

Charlie to herself: “What the frak is a Leviathan?”

Dean to Sam: “Oh, you go, Dumble-Dork.”

Charlie to Sam and Dean: “Good luck saving the world. Peace out, bitches.”
Dean to Sam: “She’s kind of like the little sister I never wanted.”
