Sons of Anarchy S6E12 “You are My Sunshine” Recap

Sons of Anarchy (FX) Comments Off on Sons of Anarchy S6E12 “You are My Sunshine” Recap

The day dawns with Jax and Patterson meeting in the aftermath of the bloody events of the previous episode. Let’s just say Patterson isn’t a happy camper. She has bodies on her hands, including a sheriff who was tasked with guarding Clay. Jax says that he’s sorry about the sheriff, but that he’s delivered everything that he promised: Guns, Galen and a quick wrap up to the Stockton school shooting.

He says SAMCRO’s earned the amnesty deal they’ve been discussing. Patterson says she will get back to him, having Tara’s snitch deal in her back pocket.

At the cabin, Bobby is being tended by Tara when Patterson calls. She asked Tara if she has the evidence to which Tara replies she does. She also relays that she will meet Patterson at the hospital. As she hangs up with Patterson, Bobby stirs and asks how he looks. Tara tells him like someone who’s been shot.

At Gemma’s, breakfast is underway when Unser arrives. Abel is restless while eating his eggs. He asks where his mommy is. The silence speaks volumes.

The club rides to the port to meet with Connor. He tells Jax that the Kings have sent no final word about a new deal with Marks. Jax cautions that the Chinese may make a move against Connor and that the need to get a new deal with a distributor with muscle is building.

At the farmhouse, Tig and the newbies have guided the survivors of Galen’s crew inside to drop off the guns. As the Irish soldiers open up the truck, Tig and the newbies draw on them and shoot ’em up. One of the over zealous newbies’ shots splashes Tig with blood, getting into his hair, which strangely, is another phobia for the mad-dog killer. He freaks as the intro rolls.

Back on the road, Mr. Wing and the Chinese catch up to the club about the death of Galen. While not unhappy about Galen’s death, Mr. Wing wanted more personal satisfaction than a dead body that he didn’t kill. He asks Jax for Galen’s Number Two. After a hesitation, Jax agrees to turn Connor over to the Chinese.

At Diosa, Nero’s morning is interrupted by one of his BizLat lieutenants. After hustling him into the main office, he spills his guts about the dire straights of Nero’s clique. The BizLats are in trouble on the street and the events of recent weeks in Stockton has only made things worse.

The gang needs to make some alliances to survive and one of these alliances is potentially with the Mayas. Nero tries to beg off, but his homie reminds him that ethnic pride and street politics still are a part of his identity. Nero agrees to meet with the Mayas.

At Gemma’s, Wendy is up and about with Gemma relaying that she has a bed at rehab. Wendy finally asks why Gemma is doing her a good deed after all the bad blood between them. Gemma replies that she’s paid the price for betrayal and that she needs her to help with the boys when Tara is out of the picture. She also doles out some motherly dating advice about Wendy’s love life as only Gemma can.

At the cabin, Tara says she needs to go to the hospital for more supplies. Juice sends Ratboy with her and then goes to check on Bobby. They split a joint and Juice catches him up about the events of the day, including Clay’s death. Bobby reassures Juice that Clay’s death was need and righteous, but he also sees that the younger man is troubled by the betrayal that took place. He tells him to go to Diosa and get some R&R. While one of the new guys is summoned to help Bobby go to the bathroom, Juice steals some of his Oxy and leaves.

Nero meets up with the Mayas with Ernesto telling him that bad winds are blowing through Oakland. SAMCRO is wheeling and dealing with the One9ers’ Marks and this arrangement will leave the Mayas out of the arms races. They are likely to ally with the Chinese against Marks and SAMCRO. He wants to know where Nero and the BizLat’s will stand if there is a race based gun war. Nero says the BizLats have always been neutral in the gun running business and that he’s not involved with SAMCRO in that way. Ernesto replies that his relationship with the club and Gemma put him in a position to influence the outcome, but that war is coming whether he wants it or not.

At the hospital, Tara is greeted by Gemma at her office! This, of course, is very bad given that Patterson is on her way. Tara quickly makes excuses about needed to sneak out quickly without drawing attention. As Gemma goes out into the hallway, she sees Patterson and her associate from the ATF. Patterson plays it cool, saying they are there to see some of the wounded officers from yesterday. Gemma gives her some snark, but also plays it cool, trying to figure out why the DA is there at that moment.

Once Gemma clears the scene, Patterson and Tara talk about the specifics of the deal. Tara says she will come and sign the deal after she gets her boys. She tells Patterson she will be there around 6:00pm. While reluctant, Patterson ultimately agrees, knowing that Tara is under immense pressure at that moment. Tara makes her way back to the Cabin where she has an awkward encounter with Jax and Bobby. When they leave, she tells the newbie she’s exhausted and is going in to crash. Once in the bedroom, she cracks the window and bolts.

Meanwhile at Diosa, a very high Juice staggers in, looking to hook up. Jaime comforts him and then leads him back to a room while she hustles up an escort. While alone, Juice pops more Oxy, obviously struggling with his emotions. Soon, it become clear that he’s getting close to OD’ing.

At the farmhouse, Connor nervously watches as some black SUV’s approach him and SAMCRO. When the doors open and he sees its the Chinese and not Marks, he freaks, telling Jax that the Kings will never forgive this double cross. Jax says it will all turn out in the end.

With Connor in hand, Mr. Wing turns Happy back over. He then asks Jax for the guns. Jax leads the Chinese gang members into the Farmhouse, saying the guns are in the truck the Irish brought. A very satisfied Mr. Wing opens up the truck, only to be greeted by heavily armed One9ers. A bloodbath ensues where the Chinese are wiped out. A dying Mr. Wing is given the kill shot by a very happy Happy.

Jax’s web of cross and double cross has reached fruition. A shaken Connor fumes, but ultimately accepts Jax’s superior cunning has eliminated the competition. He’s sated more when the real Marks entourage shows and gives up a half-million dollars to become the Real IRA’s new distributor. Suddenly, the only color that matters is green.

At Diosa, the girl who was with Juice comes out screaming that he’s collapsed. A freshly arrived Nero and Gemma dash in to find him in a heap. A quick check of the trash reveals that Juice likely has taken at least six Oxy tablets. Turning back to the OD handbook, Gemma forces his gag reflex with her hand, causing Juice to puke up his stomach’s contents. Rinse and repeat, until Juice’s stomach is clear.

The afternoon lengthens. Tara calls Gemma with a bogus story about Bobby bleeding out and needing more help. Gemma leaves Juice in the tender hands of Nero as she rushes to put out another fire. A dazed and confused Juice starts babbling to Nero, confessing that Jax had him kill Junkie Mom to keep her quiet. Nero is at first, shocked then horrified, then furious as he finally understands how deep and low Jax will go to get what he wants.

Night has fallen by the time Tara gets to Gemma. She starts to feed Unser and Wendy a line about taking the boys to go eat, but when Unser balks at letting her go unsupervised, she pulls her .38 and tells Wayne that he has no choice. A barely stable Wendy begins to scream that she is Abel’s real mother, frightening the child. Tara gives her the back of her hands and flees into the night.

On the road, Gemma gets the call that she’s been had. She calls Jax who has to bolt from the scene of his triumph. They return to Jax’s house, where they see that Tara has stripped the place clean. Jax flies into a rage, lamenting that his sons have been taken. A conflicted Nero comes to seemingly comfort Jax silently.

In the car, a fleeing Tara tells Abel that whatever happens, she is doing this for the two of them. She tries to lead him in the title song. Abel asks when he can see his father. Tara begins to break down. It’s almost 6:00pm.

At Patterson’s office, the time is ticking away… By 6:40pm, Tara hasn’t shown or called. The DA puts out and APB for her and the boys.

The show ends with Tara taking the boys to a lonely motel, sleeplessly considering her next move. The snitch deal seems dead and the Reaper is waiting.

So what do you think, Crow lovers? Will Tara snitch? Or is there a darker fate in store for her? Will Nero take vengeance against Jax? Is this the last word from the Chinese Tong now that Mr. Wing is dead? Or is greater mayhem coming? We are fully into overtime as an unprecedented 13th episode is coming next week!
