We have made it to August which means ScareLA is this month! Returning once again to the Los Angeles Convention Center, ScareLA is ready to not only bring the most extraordinary in vendors, performers and exhibits, but they are changing the convention game entirely with a new concept that will turn the whole convention itself into one big pop-up theme park!
As has been the case previous years, there will be several haunts of various kinds (VR experiences, mini haunts, escape rooms, etc) set up throughout the over 200,000 square foot floor, but this new direction will send attendees straight into the night of Halloween itself by ways of a dimly lit exhibit hall that will be transformed into a fully immersive experience under the name “Descend Into Darkness”.We were already excited for the 200+ vendors offering everything from handmade spookiness to professional special FX makeup demos, but a Halloween convention that is essentially one big scare zone? Sign. Me. Up!
If all of this wasn’t already enough, ScareLA will have several performers and musicians including Death Cat, Fifi Larue, Nancy Nightmare and the Wizard, Dangerous D, and Zombie Ballet (winners of ABC’s The Gong Show), to name a few. The Decayed Brigade, LA’s best slider crew will return to ScareLA to wow attendees with their skills. An impressive list of special guests will also be on hand that span all across the horror industry, from special FX artists to horror icons like John Kassir, voice of the Crypt Keeper from Tales From the Crypt. But wait, there’s more! There will also be a screening room showing a killer lineup of horror films and shorts all throughout the weekend. Each block shown will be themed, for example, The Horrific Hilarities block will include At Your Disposal, Cursed World Problems, FWD, Holiday Fear, How to Carve a Pumpkin, and Seven Minutes.
ScareLA runs August 25-26 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in South Hall K. There are multiple ticket options available, including tickets to the Saturday night “ScareLA Spookeasy” party at Clifton’s. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased HERE.
