Revenge Recap: “Union”
Original Air Date (ABC): Sunday February 10, 2013
Season 2 Episode 13
I’ve been away from The Hamptons so long it was hard to get back. It was good to see the old gang though. Oh, and the wedding was this weekend! I have so much to tell you, let’s get started.
Losing her old life to Amanda came to a climax with the wedding this weekend. Emily is looking through her keepsakes and remembering when she married Jack on the beach all those years ago. She got all dolled up and her dad officiated with pipe cleaner wedding rings. Emily had just finished looking at the rings. Nolan comes in to discuss Aidan’s whereabouts and drops the bomb about the Grayson’s owning half of the Stowaway. Amanda comes in just then and tells Emily how they got in bed with the Graysons. Emily doesn’t want them to have any part of Jack’s business so she gives Amanda a cashiers check so they can pay off Conrad. Conrad and Nate have been wheeling and dealing so when Jack brings him the check with interest Conrad refuses to take it. Jack tells him to prepare for a fight and storms out.
Aidan meets with Nolan and asks him to check out the overdose video of his sister. Aidan wants Nolan to find out anything he can about it. Nolan finds out the video was created six years ago. Even with this information, Aidan isn’t ready to give up hope for Colleen just yet. Nolan tells Aidan the video was shot in an apartment building in Jersey City. Aidan takes off.
Victoria finds out the Initiative is trying to get Daniel to do some shady business deals. Just like they had set David Clarke up for years ago. Of course Victoria won’t let this happen and she’s off to talk to Daniel. Unfortunately, she talks to Daniel in his office and tells him all about Helen Crowley and The Initiative. Daniel believes her and that’s great but, his office is still bugged and they are watching everything. Needless to say Crowley is furious.
Emily meets Aidan at the condemned apartment house in Jersey City. He can’t believe she’s really been dead all this time. Emily had Nolan run missing persons reports for anyone resembling Colleen’s description. He finds someone. Aidan sees the coroners report and acknowledges that it is his sister. When they are at her paupers grave Aidan appears to be finished. He tells Emily he’s not going to let the Initiative hurt him anymore. He leaves Emily crying in the field. She actually shows emotion and I feel very sorry for her.
Jack goes home to tell Amanda that Conrad won’t take the money. Of course she won’t let this alone. Amanda goes into Emily’s house and steals her computer. She storms over the Grayson Manor and confronts Conrad. She shows Conrad some of the video surveillance Emily has been doing on them. Conrad now thinks that Amanda has been behind everything that has been happening. Amanda is so blinded by her love for Jack and her need to protect him. She has no idea what she has just done. Due to the blackmail, Conrad tells Nate Ryan that the deal is off and takes the money from Jack. Nate Ryan wants to eliminate the problem and get Conrad back on board to redo the waterfront.
Nolan decides to confront Padma about betraying him. He is trying to not let his heart get in the way but it is hard. Padma admits that The Initiative have her father and that is why she’s been spying on him. Nolan feels terrible for her and has yet to decide what he’s going to do.
Jack and Amanda’s wedding is beautiful. On the beach officiated by Nolan. It’s extremely emotional for everyone. Emily is almost breaking down as she replays memories in her head. When it comes time for the rings, she gives Amanda the pipecleaner one too. It’s horrible watching Emily in so much pain. I feel worse for Jack though. He has no idea that the mother of his child is not the person he thinks she is. His whole life is built on a lie. It’s horrible. He loves her, but how would he feel if he knew the truth? Nolan can see how much pain Emily is in. He truly cares for her as his family. Emily looks up at the cliffs and sees Aidan. I’m so glad he hasn’t left her again.
Later that evening Victoria is home alone. Well, not quite alone. Crowley shows up. She is very disappointed in Victoria’s betrayal. Crowley wants any and all evidence that the Grayson’s have against The Initiative or they will have Daniel killed. Victoria tells her it’s all in the Pool House. When Crowley is opening the safe, Victoria pulls a gun on her. Crowley laughs, saying Victoria won’t kill her, she doesn’t have it in her. Apparently when it comes to protecting her son, Victoria will do anything. She shoots Crowley dead. Victoria then takes Crowley’s phone and calls Daniel. She has him respond to her call in a certain way, so those listening will think it’s Crowley calling. Lucky for him, Daniel listens to his mom. He meets her out at the Pool House and is shocked. Conrad also meets them there and now the 3 of them need to decide what they are going to do. I’m sure they don’t have much time to figure it out. I don’t think they’ll be able to trick The Initiative for long.
Declan and Charlotte are going to watch Carl while Amanda and Jack take off to the shores of Nantucket for a mini honeymoon. Everything is beautiful and romantic. Carl is fussing a bit and Declan decides to call the Amanda and ask Jack where’s the pacifier. Jack and Amanda are on deck making out so they don’t hear the call. We see Nate Ryan clip the wires so there will be no more calls to and from the ship. What the heck is he doing there? We know someone else will be dying soon. The three of them most certainly won’t make it off the boat together.
