Revenge Recap: “ Sabotage”
Original Air Date (ABC): Sunday January 13, 2013
Season 2 Episode 9
Things are heating up in the Hampton’s. I always dreamt of having in a home in the Hampton’s but it appears to me, you have to be a little bit crazy to even visit! That was more than obvious in this weeks episode.
The tension between Aiden and Emily is heartbreaking. This is just the kind of thing that can screw intense, secret operations up. I’m waiting for this to happen as Emily “pretends” to get closer to Daniel. Aiden tells Emily about the Initiative making contact with him. It’s surprising with all the information the Initiative has, they don’t have a lead on Aiden. Aiden figures if he can get in close with Crowley, then Emily can stop playing house with Daniel. Does Aiden realize that Emily won’t give up that power? She wants to be in close so she can have a handle on things. Emily goes to visit Daniel and listens in on a phone call between he and Crowley. Turns out complete control of Nolcorp isn’t enough. He wants to know what’s been going on in the past. Emily plans to meet with Daniel later for dinner.
Jack is still in jail. Amanda goes to visit and as you can imagine she’s not dealing with this well. She wants to take the Ryan’s out and she thinks she can do it. Jack obviously wants her to do nothing. He doesn’t want her or Declan or Carl hurt. Amanda thinks they should ask the Grayson’s for help. After all, Victoria promised to help Amanda. Jack doesn’t want anyone else involved. He doesn’t want anyone to get hurt.
Emily meets with her new confidant Victoria. She lets slip about how Daniel has been talking to Helen Crowley and she wants him to take over Stonehaven. This is obviously unacceptable and Victoria begins her plan to sabotage Daniel in the eyes of the Initiative. An old Grayson Global rival, Jason Prosser is going to be invited by Victoria to the fundraiser Amanda is throwing.
Emily and Daniel are having dinner in his office discussing the fundraiser. Emily brings up Helen Crowley. Lucky for her, Crowley has his office bugged and calls in. Emily gets Helen to agree to come to the fundraiser. This is great because Aiden wants a chance to get an edge on the Inititative and hopefully find out more about his sister.
Daniel is riding Nolan’s ass about something called the Carrion project. A past investment of Nolcorp that they can’t get any records on. Nolan tries to just brush it off as a loss but Daniel isn’t having it. He wants more. Padma comes in and tells Nolan she misses him and wants her job back. Nolan is more than happy to oblige. The skeevy Marco butts in but doesn’t dissuade Nolan from making a date with Padma to the fundraiser.
Just went we think we’ve seen the last of Ashley Davenport she pops in the least expected of places. The Grayson home! Ashley has decided she’s put way to much into this “family” and isn’t just going to walk away. She has written up a contract in which Conrad will deal with the “dragon lady” aka Victoria and just like that Ashley is back on the payroll. Wait until Victoria and Daniel find out about this!
Declan has gone to see Jack in jail. Jack’s going to tell Declan everything so he knows exactly why the Ryan brothers are trying to take the bar. Amanda meets with Charlotte. Charlotte is hurt that Declan hasn’t returned her calls. She understands that he doesn’t want her to get hurt. Amanda convinces Charlotte that if her parents help, they can get Jack and Declan out of trouble. Amanda tells her they don’t need money to get Jack out they need power and influence. That is exactly what her parents have. Charlotte says her dad owes her and she approaches him with Amanda for help. Conrad says, yeah no way. I’m not getting in to all that. Amanda steals a watch off Conrad’s desk and stomps out.
The fundraiser is the place to be this afternoon. I love it when Aiden, Nolan and Emily are working together. They are so friggin cute! Victoria is buddy buddy with Jason Prosser. Super flirty. This leads to a bidding war between Nolan, Daniel and Jason for a bottle of wine. Nolan drops out early and Daniel ends up winning the bottle for $1,000,000. Daniel looks like a petulant child in front of lots of investors. I think Victoria’s plan is working albeit, slowly. Helen Crowley meets Emily and sees Aiden. She leaves quickly but not before talking to Daniel again about Stonehaven. She is pushing him to buy. When she leaves Aiden follows her out and they end up in the elevator together. Victoria um, “slips” the Stonehaven idea to Prosser. Oops, she giggles, loose lips and all that, but you won’t say anything right Jason? As soon as Victoria walks away Jason calls his group and tells them to move on Stonehaven. I hope this is a legitimate deal. I’m wondering if it’s a set up for the Initiative to take out GG. If that’s the case, Prosser will be the loser and Daniel will come out on top. Padma doesn’t show up until the party is almost over. Marco gave her a lot of work to keep her busy. Padma tells Nolan that she overheard Marco talking to Daniel about some Carrion thing. The cat is out of the bag! Right?
Aiden is in the elevator with Helen and it stops. The phones are working. Gas starts pouring out of the vents. Aiden and Helen pass out. Helen and Aiden wake up tied to chairs in a basement. A ninja looking person in black with a mask and voice changer starts asking why they are interested in Stonehaven. They are smacking Aiden around. We know Aiden’s got the moves and he takes out the ninja dude. Shoots him! Helen and Aiden begin to run as another ninja guy comes running down the stairs. Aiden tells Helen they need to split up. He asks her if she knows what that was all about. Helen thinks she has an idea. That’s good because I was like, WTF. Back in the basement the second assailant takes off his mask. It’s Nolan!!!! The ninja isn’t dead, it’s Emily! Turns out this was all a ruse to get Aiden closer to Helen Crowley and the Initiative. I hope it works. Aiden figures he getting closer can allow Emily to stop hanging with Daniel. She’s not going to give up this in. She wants Aiden to trust her. When it comes to love, trust is a necessary but sometimes difficult thing.
Remember that watch Amanda stole? Well, she traded it for a 9mm. Yeah, back to her street ways. She’s going to handle this Ryan brother crap her way. Just as Amanda is about to pull out the gun and threaten Nate Ryan to get his ass out of dodge or else, Ashley pulls her away. She takes her upstairs where Jack is waiting, with Conrad. Ashley has persuaded Conrad to help Jack in the interest of changing his reputation. If he’s going to work on his political career, getting rid of drug runners and corrupt police is just the thing to endear him to the people. Jack’s not overly thrilled but he’s out now so we’ll have to see what they’re going to do.
Marco meets Nolan and Padma at Nolcorp. Nolan calls Marco out about supplying information to Daniel. He finds ghost emails that he assumes were sent from Marco about the Carillion project. Marco says he didn’t write them. Curious. Nolan doesn’t believe him and fires Marco and kicks him out forever. This makes Padma happy since she didn’t like fighting for Nolan’s affections with him. I was thrilled about this until Padma was on the phone. She is talking to the Initiative. She is the one who has been supplying all the information! Now we can only hope that Marco won’t leave like that and he’ll find Padma out. Even if he does, it’ll take major convincing to get Nolan to believe that it was her. Big trouble ahead.
Daniel is at Emily’s house when Aiden shows up to get his stuff. Daniel leaves but Aiden is not happy. Again the trust thing. Could you watch someone you love kissing someone else? Even if it “doesn’t mean anything”? I couldn’t. Sabotage was all over this episode in so many ways.
