Revenge Recap: “Identity”
Original Air Date (ABC): Sunday April 28, 2013
Season 2 Episode 19

This opening sequence irritated me.  To me, Emily at this point is a shadow.  She’s not Amanda Clarke and she’s not Emily Thorne.  She has people who love her, but she truly loves no one.  She has only her revenge.  What will she be when this is over?  Who do you become when everything in your life is a lie?

Emily is playing house with Daniel.  When she comes downstairs in the morning she stops to listen in on Conrad and Victoria.  They are having a lovely discussion about the terminated pregnancy in Victoria’s past.  We know she had the baby but some how she has papers that say it was terminated.  Emily learns about the papers and then is off.  She is going to visit Jack.  What a surprise she gets when she sees Ashley there.  Ashley brings hot chocolate for Carl?  She really doesn’t know babies!  Jack greets Emily with his usual coolness, telling her “We’re ok.”

The police held Nolan for 20 hours, questioning him about Padma’s death.  Emily tells Nolan they have to get the Falcon and make him pay.  Emily says the only way Victoria is able to get those kind of fake papers is from the Falcon.  This means she has contact with him directly.  They’ll use his ego to draw him out and take him down.  Nolan finds the code and sends Victoria an email stating the papers are fake and shoddy work.  Victoria calls the Falcon and tells him to find out who the leak is and to close it permanently.  The Falcon tells Victoria she wasn’t the target and to just relax.  The Falcon agrees to meet Nolan at Teddy’s in Brooklyn.  Nolan apparently was quite the StreetFighter champion back in the day.

Daniel meets with Takada.  He says Aiden is being reckless and he’d like to look at his background files.  Aiden walks in while they’re talking.  He takes Takada out for a drink.  Takada tells Aiden, his emotions are messing up Emily’s path.  Aiden tells him he’s wrong.  Aiden says there is no peace in revenge.  This path he has led them on is wrong and leads to more pain but no peace.  Takada looks surprised that Aiden speaks out against him.  Aiden is going to help Emily finish this up as soon as possible with as few casualties as possible.

Nolan goes to meet the Falcon at the arcade.  Turns out the Falcon is a girl.  Shame on us for not thinking that was a possibility.  Nolan wants the Falcon to remove anything that points to him as a suspect in Padma’s murder.  The Falcon declines to help.  Nolan entices her by saying, let’s play on it.  The Falcon can’t resist the game.  Nolan kicks ass at the game and the Falcon is forced to help.  She is a hacker of honor.  Somewhat.  While she leaves with Nolan’s jump drive Emily takes pics of her.

Conrad is having his interview with Ms. Chang and Nightline at the house.  Daniel and Emily are up first.  Emily looks uncomfortable but smiles when asked if wedding bells are in the future.  She said she can think of nothing better than being a Grayson.  Jack is there and catches Emily’s eye.  He is pissed.  So is Victoria but we know there’s no love lost there.  Jack leaves and Emily calls him.  Emily tries to tell him it’s not what you think.  Jack doesn’t buy it.  He tells Emily he doesn’t want her around Jack anymore.  She’s no longer his godmother.  Then he hangs up on her.

Charlotte has taken to hanging out with Regina, the girl she punched at the party.  She skips a meeting with the Harvard people to get coffee.  Then she blows off Declan to hang out at a club with her.  Not only did she blow him off, she totally lied. Then, when they’re in line for the club the press gets pictures of Regina and Charlotte kissing.  Unfortunately, Declan sees these online before the night is out.  So much for Charlotte being the “good” Grayson.

While Charlotte is getting hot and heavy with Regina things are heating up at the house.  Nolan has of course sent a surprise to the Falcon on his jump drive.  Ms. Chang says they just confirmed that Victoria abandoned a 6 month old son named Patrick to enroll in European Art School.  I felt really bad for Victoria at this time.  Her eyes welled up with tears.  All she could say is, “The story is true”.  Then she took off her mic and walked out.  Nolan is talking to and watching the Falcon.  He tells her it’s over.  The FBI storm in and grab her.  She yells at Nolan that he’s messed with the wrong person.  I don’t think he needs to worry.  They’ll have enough stuff on her to keep her away from computers for a while.  When Nolan is talking to Emily later, he says the Falcon is another face for her to cross off.  Emily sends the pic to Nolan and tells him to do it.  She says it’s for Padma.  Nolan adds, and David.

While Victoria is on the balcony trying to deal with this part of her life that’s come out, Conrad arrives.  He’s not there to support her though.  He commends her on destroying his reputation.  What a jerk.  It’s all about you buddy.  Victoria goes to see Nolan.  He’s surprised to see her.  She doesn’t seem to link Nolan to the Falcon getting found out.  Either she doesn’t know or she doesn’t care.  Victoria tells Nolan she’ll give him back Nolcorp if he’ll help her with something.  She wants him to help her find her son.  Could Victoria possibly be changing for the good?  Could all of this finally be wearing her down?  Not sure about that.

Ashley comes to visit Conrad with some friendly blackmail, and to gloat a bit.  She gets back on the job by showing Conrad the pics of him and the governor’s wife.  I hope she’s really out to help Jack.  Who knows anymore.  She’s back on the inside now.

Daniel comes to see Emily.  He tells her she’s the only thing stopping them from being together.  He gives her an engagement ring.  He says the next time he sees her, whether or not she’s wearing it, he’ll have his answer.  He wants them to be together but only if Emily is in it 100 percent.  Emily takes the ring and goes to see Aiden.  Aiden asks what will happen if Emily marry’s Daniel and takes the Grayson’s out from the inside.  Total annihilation.  Emily says then she can be with him.  Aiden tells Emily, then marry the SOB and take them down.
