Nikita Recap: “Crossbow”
Original Air Date (The CW): Friday May 11, 2012
Season 2 Episode 22
Let me start this review off with the following…
SEASON THREE!!!!!!!!
*clears throat*
Okay, back to business.
There’s something that admittedly feels *convenient* about Crossbow. After weeks of chasing after Divsion, Percy just happens to get his hands on the one ultimate weapon that no one in the government knew about. But what I choose believe is that this episodes was used as a means to address one major issue within the series and act as a means to get the audience to the beginning of the season finale.
What’s the major issue you ask? What the heck has POTUS been doing these last two years? Seriously. Does he even know Division is a thing? And now we have our answer. A resounding no. This is good because next season Team Nikky will hopefully get to play with the element of working with The President to stop whatever threat still exists by then. Or maybe they go all Jack Bauer and just storm the White House. That’d be cool too.
And the means to a beginning? This episode was clearly meant to get Nikita and Michael inside Division for what appears is going to be a kick-ass game of cat and mouse. If last season taught us anything it’s that when Nikita gets into a foot chase with Percy the results are usually very entertaining.
As for who the mystery man is? Could be anyone’s guess. And since Crossbow is part one of a two part finale I will choose not to speculate at this time.
I’ll say that I’m a bit disappointed with the resolution to the Robbie plot line from last season. At this point the character was an after thought. I thought for sure he was going to reappear during the first season finale. But to have him come up now kinda feels like a case of “oh yeah, that guy.” Like I said, an episode full of convenience.
All that said, I’m sure we’re just ramping up to a kick-ass finale which is where I’ll truly display my unforgiving love for this series.
P.S. Good on Birkhoff for stealing that kiss 😀
