New Man of Steel Trailer is Stunning

Entertainment News Comments Off on New Man of Steel Trailer is Stunning

by Tracy Ladd:

I’m not really one to report on a lot of trailers, but every once in a while I watch one that gives me goosebumps and instills within me a need to share it…even though every site on the web is posting it too.  That’s exactly how I felt when I watched the (supposedly) final trailer for Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel.  The first teasers that were released back in July with the same footage shown in each, with one being narrated by Russell Crowe as Jor-El, and the other by Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, left me all tingly.  The first full length trailer that was released back in December made me excited, but angry that I had to wait another six months to see the final product.  Now with this latest trailer, the film’s release date is a short two months away and it can’t get here soon enough.

This incredible three-minute trailer shows everything from a war-torn Krypton, Clark Kent’s childhood, the realization that he’s different, and what appears to be his acceptance of what he actually is.  We also get a look at Michael Shannon’s General Zod, who looks amazing.  He also looks crazed and not anything like the suave Terence Stamp General Zod.  Henry Cavill looks incredible as the Man of Steel and I can’t believe I ever had any doubts about him in the role.

In of the most telling scenes of the trailer, we also find out that the “S” on the front of the suit isn’t even an “S”.  According to the Man of Steel himself, where he comes from it means hope.  That’s exactly what this trailer did for me.  It gave me hope that we’re going to get an amazing film that balances the drama with some serious action, and an incredible villain.  The one thing that makes me sad is knowing what Jor-El’s fate is.  I really like the look and tone of Russell Crowe’s Jor-El and am already sad that he won’t be a bigger part of the film.

Knowing that this is from the minds of David S. Goyer and Christopher Nolan gives me faith that fans of the iconic character are finally going to get the film they’ve been waiting for.  I love this trailer, but most of all I love the use of the music in the trailer.  Check out the newest trailer below and let me know what you think.

Man of Steel flies into theaters on June 14, 2013.
