Review:

I have always had a love-hate relationship with PG-13 “Horror” movies.  So many times, it’s just a simple ploy to get a little younger audience.  It’s not that I need all the gore or sex in your average “R” rated horror movie either.  What I care about most in my horror is a good storyline, better acting, and “real” scares.  This movie really has everything you could ask for… the storyline is well written and has several twist to it that really keep the story flowing and add some surprise to the film.  The three main actors: Lawrence, Thieriot, and Shue really do well with their roles.  The characters are interesting and I enjoyed the way the story was laid out for us, only giving a little information at a time.  There is a fair amount of tension throughout this movie and that is one of the biggest assets to a PG-13 movie.  I love feeling the tension on my chest and having those jump in your seat moments.  This movie will not disappoint.  The story revolves around a double murder in the house at the end of the street in you’re a little above average neighborhood.  Most of the neighbors complain how the murders have really cut the values of their properties.  They are also not thrilled that the only surviving member of the murdered family, a young man (Thieriot), now lives in the house.  The connection between the young man and the young girl (Lawrence) who moved into the home next door begins innocently enough.  This is not the most original movie ever made… however, it is very entertaining and keeps your interest throughout.  Check out the trailer below and give this movie a shot… it is worth a watch!

[2012 PG-13 101 minutes]
