Ready for another round of Hemlock Grove? I sure am! And this one starts of a little steamy! *fans self*

So Lethe is dreaming on the school bus. She’s resting in the hammock by Peter’s trailer as he comes out, topless, and talks to her. As they talk, he fondles some fruit, which flies seem to be enjoying as well. He finds an orange and bites into it, offering some to her before he sits with her in the hammock. She asks him, “You think he sees us?” as they stare off at the Godfrey manor.  Peter replies with, “He sees what he wants to see.” Then as he explains what the wettest place in the world is, he touches her leg.

When Lethe wakes up a bit startled, people laugh at her on the bus. Peter’s eyes instantly find hers, as they stare at each other. He smiles a little and turns around, as we have the lovely credits roll!

Now that was a sexy opener!

Next we see poor Christina struggling with night terrors as she spends the night at Sheriff Sworn’s house. His twin daughters listen to her talk in her sleep, as she mumbles about werewolves. When she screams herself awake they hold her and try to comfort her.

Then suddenly we are thrown into a scene of teeth and yellow eyes, wild shots of something hunting. We see Francis watching, or is it Francis? The beast has black fur, blood on its jaws. He’s relaying what he’s seen to Dr. Chasseur, who questions him further. She asks him his proximity to the animal, while we get a close up on his strangely colored right eye. He tells her he was 20 paces. That he ran for the tree line. She asks him more questions, and he has flashes of the encounter with Lethe and Roman. Dr. Chasseur says she’d like to believe him but it sounds fabricated. He says the word snatch and says, “The demon dog went for her lady parts.” He looks at her through his strange eye and says, “Your wings are wet. “

Norman and Clementine talk outside the room holding Francis, and drink some hospital coffee. She asks what Norman makes of the demon dog, and he says he is suffering dissociative symptoms. Norman suggests she go to The White Tower to get more answers and talk to Dr. Pryce.

The scene changes and we have Roman greeting his sister as she reads the paper about the demon dog. Olivia demands Roman give his sister a ride, and they fight about his association with the gypsy. Roman in the end doesn’t let her get the better of him, despite her over reaction to the subject.

The scene changes and we watch Shelley write another letter to Norman, talking about the decline in her mother’s temperament and how Roman made a stop at Luke’s Country Store on the way to school. Inside was Jenny, a girl who works for the country club, or did until she was fired by Olivia. Roman tells Jenny his mother is a “Farm-fresh cunt.” And gets a smile out of the girl, after she calls him bad. We get a flash of them having sex, then Jenny turns her attention on Shelley. She tries some earrings on her and Shelley glows about how nice the moment made her feel. Sadly Roman tells her that, “Mom would shit a bowling ball.” Shelley mentions that she is afraid of what’s to come if things keep building as they are.

The scene changes and we see Clementine listening to the police scanners as she works on her computer and eats. She circles the words Bite Patterns Identical and gets a thoughtful look on her face as she overhears on the scanner about wolf droppings.

The scene changes to Sheriff Sworn staring at wolf droppings. Clementine examines it closely, finding blonde hairs. She studies the hair in the back of her very equipped truck, and Sworn asks if she has anything. She claims it’s too digested. Seeing his reaction to her work, she asks him to go get a drink with her.

What follows is a scene with Olivia, admiring herself in the mirror. She’s putting on chap-stick when she takes out a pouch with those strange vials in it. She pulls out an almost empty one and looks dismayed, as she starts to hear voices. Looking troubled, she uses a drop in her eye and gets a happy, dreamy expression.

Later we see her at the Luke Country Store, watching Lynda steal some purple nail polish in the big mirror. The odd thing I noticed in this scene, is Olivia isn’t in the mirror. Lynda tries to make small talk when Olivia whispers back at her, “I think purple with a purpose is not your color.”

Lynda’s reaction? “It’s on bitch.”

The scene changes and we are at the school, where Roman introduces Lethe to Peter. Lethe tries to hide her attraction to Peter by not shaking his hand. Shelley is with them and they all get into Olivia’s car. Roman mentions the guy lying in the road to Lethe, and they remember what he said about seeing the Dragon. Roman asks her to talk to her father to get more information, and Lethe realizes they are up to something. Roman confesses he thinks the demon dog is a person. Lethe tries to talk sense into them, but Roman brushes her off.

When the car stops Peter lectures Roman on the differences between people paying attention to him and people paying attention to Roman. Roman starts to get it and they agree to meet at midnight.

When Peter gets into the trailer, he looks at the shrine of Nikolai  and says a prayer for him. Lynda comes home and they have some small talk, where Lynda says she ran into Olivia. Lynda says she can smell the desperation off her and that she must be out of the “stuff” Vince sold her, and when she says she’s making duck Peter tells her he’s going out.

The scene changes and we see Olivia at the Godfrey building, talking to Dr. Pryce.  He asks her if she’s been sleeping and she deflects it, as he then brings up Norman. He claims to bring him no ill will, but Olivia teases him, saying he’s “…practicing an imitation of empathy.” Dr. Pryce relays to her that their friends at Lod are willing to make a bid on his shares, but Olivia says it’s not the right time to bring that up. Dr. Pryce’s attention is then drawn to Shelley who’s sitting in a gown waiting for him. He tenderly calls her little glow worm, and apologizes for any discomfort she may be feeling. He examines her leg, asking if she still feels pain which she replies with a whimper and nod. Olivia then brings up Lethe’s pregnancy, and says she will require the best treatment. She demands they build an obstetrics wing to take care of her. Dr. Pryce says Norman will never agree, but Olivia is convinced she can make him see how this is best for his daughter. The look Dr. Pryce gives her makes me think she fears him, even a little. He turns his attention to Shelley, smiling sweetly now, and shows her a strange flower. He says technically speaking…its not alive.

A very bizarre exchange, between all three of them.

The scene changes and we see the Sheriff and Clementine drinking in a bar, as she talks about different religions and how they deal with the dead. He seems slightly unnerved by her. Sworn brings up how she asked Peter if he was a werewolf, and seems annoyed by her practices. She cuts him off and says they fucked up the last dead girl’s autopsy. She also tells him they may need to un-bury her, which disturbs him so much he finishes the remainder of what’s in his glass in one gulp.

What follows is a scene with poor Christina. She’s screaming and flailing, as nurses hold her down so a doctor and inject her with something to calm her. She’s hysterical, and this is possibly to show us how bad off she was when they found her after she found the body.

It flashes back to Christina now, as she talks to her friends the twins. They ask her questions about how it feels to be out in the world again, and what drugs she’s on. They try to comfort her in their own way by handing her a mixed CD they made her.  But she’s highly medicated, and seems to drift off at times. They ask her to tell them what she saw.  All she can say is the girl’s eyes looked fake. She couldn’t believe it, and thought they were filming and kissed her.

The scene changes back to the bar with Clementine and Sworn. He’s looking at photos of his girls as Clementine looks over his shoulder. She sits down as he does another shooter and tells her, “Let’s do this before I think better of it.”

Next we see Peter and Roman meeting up in the cemetery. They start digging and talking about funerals. Roman asks what funerals are like for Romani. He starts thinking about Nikolai’s death, as he explains. He also tells Roman that they cut off the head of their kind after death. After hearing his story, Roman tells Peter about his father’s death and his “fucked up” reaction to it.

The scene changes and we see Christina watching her pals sleep, looking pensive. She starts scanning the room, looking at note books, pictures, a map with details pinned to it. Being a writer means she’s fascinated by everything.

We then are brought back to the boys digging up the girl. They open the coffin and begin, while Roman grimaces at her state. Peter asks Roman to get the thing from his bag, as Peter undresses her stomach area. When Peter sees her half-form state, he says a prayer for her and then begins taking out her intestines. Roman asks what his cousin is going to do with them. Peter says his cousin will do what she can with the organ. Roman mentions that he’s also seen his sister Shelley’s death, but Peter lets it slide, and shortly after they hear people approaching. It’s the Sheriff and Clementine. They don’t see the boys scurry away in a panic, but they do find the open casket. Sworn accidentally falls right on top of the girl’s body and freaks out, covering in the dead girl’s fluids. Clementine doesn’t really react much, and coolly takes a piece of the corpses scalp and hair after saying a prayer. “you can call it in, we got what we came for.” Is all she says to Sworn as they climb out.

The next scene is Shelley chatting with her uncle. She tells him she has an uneasy feeling, and talks about Christina. She asks if she can recommend Norman to her if she wants it. Then she goes on to tell him that she “…derives some consolation by remembering these words:  I cannot tell how it mounts on the winds, Through the clouds and flies through heaven. Today I have seen the Dragon.”

Really strange thing to say considering everything else going on don’t you think? It takes Norman aback for sure.

We are then shown poor Sworn come home, shaken from what happened in the graveyard. He looks on his daughters only to be startled by Christina, who couldn’t sleep herself. She recognizes the smell on him realizes while talking to her that she is way too smart for her own good. She tries to comfort herself by saying what she’s experienced will make her a better writer, and he tells her that sometimes when he talks to her he isn’t sure who the adult is.

We then get back to the trailer, where we see Peter thinking about his grandfather’s funeral. Lynda asks young Peter if he’s ready, and we see Nikolai being strung up by his toes. Everyone in the circle around him drinks from a bottle of JD, including Peter. Then Peter is handed a silver sword.  He takes the sword, and after steeling himself for the blow, chops his grandfather’s head clean off.  We see the head roll at Peter’s feet, and the blood seep into the ground. Older Peter opens his eyes.

The scene quickly changes to Clementine calling Sworn. She says, “Congratulations, it’s a boy.” And tells him the hair sample is a human male. The next thing we see is her holding a picture of our gypsy boy Peter.  DUN DUN DUN!
