Three episodes into Gotham’s season 5 and the drama has been intense. Harley Quinn made her debut in “Penguin, Our Hero” and she’s a perfect addition for the show.

Gotham showrunners had promised that Harley Quinn would appear on the show at some point, but it wasn’t until season 5’s “Penguin, Our Hero” that she finally made her big debut.

Not only did fans get to see Harley Quinn in all of her zany glory, but she went toe to toe against Selina Kyle and proved that she might have a bullet bouncing around her brain (courtesy of Jeremiah) but she’s not someone to be underestimated.

With Warner Bros hedging on allowing the show to use the name “Joker” it’s safe to say that they won’t be calling Francesca Root-Dodson’s character “Harley Quinn” either. Jeremiah’s trusted assistant and security force called herself Ecco, so she might keep that name even though she’s clearly rocking the harlequin look.

Speaking of her look, there’s something really intriguing about how Gotham’s Harley is like a mirror image of herself, down to one eyebrow on top of her eye and the other one underneath her eye. She’s also sporting the classic red and black look with no sign of the Suicide Squad-inspired blue hair.

Though her initial appearance was brief, it will be interesting to see how Harley Quinn works with Jeremiah on Gotham. Will she be a sidekick, a partner or a faithful girlfriend who does his bidding? Clearly she can defend herself, and she doesn’t shy away from a fight. She’s also twisted in a very dark way, a byproduct of Jeremiah’s twisted sense of humor.

What do you think of Gotham’s newest villain?
