Even after 25 years, Buffy the Vampire Slayer still has the attraction she’s always had, and that’s evident as Boom Studios announced a second printing of the newly-released comic book Buffy the Vampire Slayer #1.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer #1 is a fresh look at a classic favorite. The new comic book series from Boom Studios arrived in comic shops on January 23 and was an instant hit, with the first printing selling out at the distributor level prior to Wednesday’s release.
Boom has already announced a second printing, due on February 20 with a brand new cover from Amelia Vidal that features Willow in all of her witchy glory.
In the new comic, written by Jordie Bellaire, Buffy gets a bit of a modern upgrade complete with applicable tech like Xander’s laptop and the accessibility of text messaging, but the story itself doesn’t change. Buffy is still a high school student trying to fit in and get through class and life. Being the Slayer and fighting vampires doesn’t help at all.
This is a great time to introduce new readers to the world of Buffy Summers as the story is very accessible and you don’t need to know anything about the show to understand what’s happening. It’s a perfect stepping stone for new or returning fans, young and old.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer #1 is out now, but it’s quite possible your comic shop is sold out so be sure to reserve a copy of the second printing!
