After no less than eleven teaser trailers, the producers of American Horror Story: Asylum have finally given the fans what they’ve been eagerly waiting for…trailers featuring the cast.
Both promotional trailers feature cast members Adam Levine, Lily Rabe, Evan Peters, Chloe Sevigny, Sarah Paulson, Zachary Quinto, Joseph Fiennes, James Cromwell, and Jessica Lange, set to an eerie version of the 1956 classic “Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)”. Already, you can get a sense of who’s in control of this situation. Or so it seems.
When Asylum was first announced as the theme for Season 2, earlier this month, co-creator Ryan Murphy had this to say in a statement released to the press:
“We picked Asylum because it not only describes the setting – an insane asylum run by Jessica Lange’s character which was formerly a tuberculosis ward – but also signifies a place of haven for the unloved and the unwanted. This year’s theme is about sanity and tackling real life horrors.”
Murphy has also been quoted, in a recent interview with EW, talking more about the inception of the concept — and what the fans want:
”I think they want to be scared. I’m just writing what I would like to see. I’m scared of aliens and I’m scared of Nazis and I’m scared of nuns. So it’s the perfect stew of horror and fear.”
American Horror Story: Asylum will debut on FX on October 17th. And stay tuned for DarkMedia’s official recaps, by contributor Sarabeth Pollock.
