Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Game of Thrones alum Alexander Siddig joins the cast of Gotham as Batman’s arch nemesis Ra’s Al Ghul.
Gotham may be on its winter break, but things are about to heat up in Gotham City with the addition of Alexander Siddig to the cast as Ra’s Al Ghul, the head of the mysterious League of Shadows.
Before Gotham bowed for the winter break fans watched as young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) continued his investigation of the Court of Owls. The Court of Owls is in possession of a Bruce Wayne doppleganger from the now defunct Indian Hill facility. With their influence all over Gotham City, and with a Bruce Wayne clone in their employ, the Court of Owls can do a lot of damage. However, we have yet to meet their leader, and that’s where the mysterious and powerful immortal Ra’s Al Ghul comes in.
Though details are limited at this point, it is believed that Ra’s Al Ghul will appear in the second half of Gotham’s third season.
Siddig, best known as bright-eyed Dr. Julian Bashir on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993-1999), appeared most recently as Doran Martell on HBO’s juggernaut Game of Thrones.
Gotham returns April 24th on Fox.
