For all the naysayers out there who think there’s no way American Horror Story can top the chill-factor of its groundbreaking first season, think again.  Just this Friday, the first teaser trailer was released for Season 2 (entitled “Asylum”), featuring a nun carrying (and subsequently dumping) buckets of… body parts?

You’ll have to watch and decide for yourself.

Creepy, right?  But wait, there’s more…

Today, a second teaser trailer was released, via American Horror Story’s official Facebook page.  More nuns, more mystery… and this time, it’s even eerier than the first.

The caption posted beneath this second trailer was: Don’t try to escape. You’re being watched.

When Asylum was first announced as the theme for Season 2, earlier this month, co-creator Ryan Murphy had this to say in a statement released to the press:

“We picked Asylum because it not only describes the setting – an insane asylum run by Jessica Lange’s character which was formerly a tuberculosis ward – but also signifies a place of haven for the unloved and the unwanted.  This year’s theme is about sanity and tackling real life horrors.”

Returning to the cast this season are Lange, Evan Peters, Zachary Quinto, Lily Rabe, and Sarah Paulson.  Several exciting additions to the cast this year include James Cromwell, Joseph Fiennes, Adam Levine and Chloe Sevigny.

American Horror Story: Asylum will debut on FX in October of this year.
